Call off the infantry, Counter Launch has arrived! Counter Launch is changing the way music is heard by creating a new genre, Punk Opera. Counter Launch uses the high energy of punk but holds to the theatrics and storytelling of an opera.

Counter Launch consists of three members, Gabriel Valentin on guitar and lead vocals, Stephen Filthy on bass and lead vocals, and Adam Sayre on drums and vocals. Although Steven, Adam and Gabe were all born and raised in San Diego, they were never that impressed with the So-Cal pop punk scene. It was legends like Iron Maiden, Bad Religion, Queen, the Misfits and Social Distortion that created the soundtrack for these kids.

Counter Launch has always had a dark heart for the more sinister side of punk and metal, and  that has helped create the band's unmatched sound.

Our style has been called everything from punk metal to classic rock. While there is definitely a huge punk influence on our band, the range in our sound comes from our love of many genres of music. Our drums are driving and aggressive as they are in punk, while our bass and guitars flow with energy driven riffs and chords that balance out the melodic hooks and lyrics of our songs. Our lyrics are more metal than punk, as they give life to epic fantasy worlds in an odyssey of narrated journeys that evolve from one Counter Launch song to the next. Every song from its first lyric to its final beat is filled with an everlasting statement that will echo throughout this generation and generations to come.

We support the great community work done by The VH1 Save The Music Foundation, "a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in American public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education", and by MSF Doctors Without Borders, "an international medical humanitarian organization working in more than 60 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe".
